"There ain't no such thing as a free lunch" (alternatively, "There's no such thing as a free lunch" or other variants) is a popular adage communicating the idea that it is impossible to get something for nothing. The initialisms TNSTAAFL, TANSTAAFL, and TINSTAAFL are also used. Uses of the phrase dating back to the 1930s and 1940s have been found, but the phrase's first appearance is unknown. The "free lunch" in the saying refers to the nineteenth-century practice in American bars of offering a "free lunch" in order to entice drinking customers.
So why are we mentioning this...It really never ceases to amaze us, that so many dating and alternative lifestyle sites all seem to say FREE when in fact they're not free. Well, free to register, yes, but if you want to use this feature or that feature or even to message someone, you have to upgrade your account...
Sad that these websites can't be upfront about their costs. The Private Members Network is not a free site. We don't want to be free. We want to be relatively exclusive, as free from time-wasters as possible - and one way is to charge for our service.
Free is unsustainable. Free would mean a site supported by advertising, which would in turn mean sharing information about you (in non-generic ways) to advertisers...oh, yes thats right, there is a site like that - Facebook....We don't share your information and we don't sell your information.
So we do ask for an annual membership fee - which gives you access to everything. One fee One access....
In fact, we're going one step further and rewarding those members who sign up and join the Private Members Network. We'll be announcing details shortly.
